The Brahma Vaivarta Purana is among the eighteen most important Puranas.
It is divided into only four chapters:
- Brahma Khanda
- Prakriti Khanda
- Ganapati Khanda
- Sri Krishna Janma Khanda
and more than 18,000 verses, as much as the Srimad-Bhagavatam.
It tells many stories that are not found elsewhere on the life of Sri Krishna.
