Donations depend on your financial possibilities. If you are rich you can give a lot, if you are not so rich you may give something, if you are poor you can give just a little bit. What’s important is bhakti, love and devotion.
If you have a million and you give 1 dollar is not good. If you have 2 dollars and give 1 dollar, this is great.
I remember the story of a bum who was coming to 2 Avenue Temple in New York in 1966. He would regularly come, enter into the toilette and put a roll of toilet paper there. The devotees wondered if he was being offensive but Srila Prabhupada said,
“This is devotional service. He is giving what he can.”
