In 1616 AD, following Sri Syamananda Prabhu’s order, Sri Rasikananda Prabhu organized the Panchama Dola Festival in Badakola. It was attended by several minor and major kings and by the Mughal Viceroy of Medinipur.
Influenced by the splendor of the festival, the Mughal Viceroy requested Syamananda Prabhu to organize a similar festival in Medinipur. Acceding to his request, Syamananda went to Medinipur with Rasikananda and organized a grand festival lasting for twenty-four hours. During the festival the Mughal Viceroy, surcharged with divine love, chanted
“Haribol! Haribol!”
again and again. Hearing this, Syamananda Prabhu named him “Haribola.”
After the festival, he went to Nadajal with Rasikananda and established the service to the Deity of Sri Madana Mohana.
