One must behave according to the teachings of the Adi-Guru of the Sampradaya
Sampradayera adi-gurura siksa avalambana kariya acarana karibe
All the Acaryas in the sadhu-sampradaya worship the Adi Acarya[1], who is the crown jewel of the Gurus, the Siksa-Guru who founded the sampradaya.
They follow the conclusions of his wonderful philosophy and do not accept any other philosophy. They strive to practice his teachings and do not take Diksa from anywhere else.
One must accept a Guru within a Sampradaya
Sampradaya guru varana kara kartavya
These Gurus are familiar with the teachings of the original Gurus of the sampradaya. They do not accept the teachings of any other pandita[2] who expounds another philosophy.
He who studies these teachings carefully is a sadhu of good character. One should know that such a true pandita is always qualified to be a Diksa-Guru.
One never gets maximum benefit by accepting the krishna-mantra from a Mayavadi
Mayavadira nikata krishna-mantra laile paramartha haya na
One will never get the highest spiritual benefit by accepting the krishna-mantra from someone who follows the mayavada philosophy.
Except a pure Vaishnava, no one else can be a Guru
suddha-bhakta vyatita anyake Guru karibe na
Both the person who expounds a different philosophy and the person who accepts it go to hell. They cannot be saved.
The life of one who rejects suddha-bhakti and teaches another philosophy simply passes through arguments and counterarguments.
How can such a person become a Guru and save the Jiva? If he is imperfect, how can he bestow something auspicious on others?
So, how can someone who is not a suddha-bhakta be eligible to become a Guru? This is stated in all Sastra.
