The Holy Name is The Personification of Happiness and Knowledge

posted in: English, Kadacha ENG 0

By performing the collective chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra, one can destroy the sinful condition of material existence, purify the defiled heart and awaken all kinds of devotional service. The result of chanting is that love for Krishna awakens, and transcendental happiness becomes reality. Eventually one gains the company of Lord Krishna and engages in devotional service, as if immersed in an immense ocean of love.

The holy name, in Rupa Gosvami’s Namastaka, is described as the personification of happiness and knowledge.

Oh Hari-nama! Oh Krishna! You destroy all the sufferings of those who take refuge in You. You, to your devotees, are very attractive and delightful. Your form is the personification of knowledge and happiness and therefore You are a feast for the inhabitants of Gokula. I prostrate myself repeatedly in front of You. Your form is completely spiritual like Vaikuntha.
