Equating the Holy Name with other auspicious activities
Anya subha-karmera sahita namake tulya-jnana
One cannot equate pious activities, such as taking vows, penances, renunciations, yajnas and all other auspicious actions with the Holy Name.
Glories, glories to Gauracandra, the avatar of the Name. Glories, glories to Hari-nama, the essence of all truths.
Hari Dasa said: O Lord, please be aware that virtuous activities are never equal to the Holy Name[1].
The intrinsic nature of the Name
Namera svarupa
You are the transcendental sun, for this is Your nature. You are perfectly divine, and Your nature is unprecedented.
Your form is fully transcendental in every sense, and Your Name, dhama[2] and lila[3] are all perfectly spiritual.
Your direct Names are all non-different from You, but the material elements are different from the Name.
Srinama descends from Goloka and enters the mouth of devotees. Being a manifestation of the Atma, It pervades the body and dances on the tongue.
This is the truth about Your Holy Name. Anyone who thinks that the Name is part of this material world will be the victim of much suffering.
Krishna’s feet are the focus. Those with different qualifications achieve many different types of results
Krishna-pada upeya. Adhikara bhede upaya bahu-vidha
Sastra has said that the goal is to reach You. Depending on different qualifications, one may reach You in various ways[4].

[3] Pastimes.
[4] There are different paths to take depending on who the person is. If one is strongly attached to matter, karma is recommended; for those who want detachment from matter but without devotion to Krishna, jnana is recommended. And so on. These are all gradual steps to reach Bhakti.
