Question
Maharaji can explain it?
The Jivas mix to form new personalities?
And the original personality remains or is lost?
Answer
We find in Shastra innumerable examples of “taking new personalities”. Every incarnation of Krishna is this and are called Avataras.
Be they svamsa or vibhinnasma, this expanding capacity is well known.
The original personality never disappears, because the jivas, just like Krishna, are eternal and unchangeable.
acchedyo ’yam adāhyo ’yam
akledyo ’śoṣya eva ca
nityaḥ sarva-gataḥ sthāṇur
acalo ’yaṁ sanātanaḥ
This individual soul is unbreakable and insoluble, and can be neither burned nor dried. He is everlasting, present everywhere, unchangeable, immovable and eternally the same.
(Bhagavad-gita 2.24)
In the next verse Sri Krishna repeats the same concept.
avyakto ’yam acintyo ’yam
avikāryo ’yam ucyate
tasmād evaṁ viditvainaṁ
nānuśocitum arhasi
It is said that the soul is invisible, inconceivable and immutable. Knowing this, you should not grieve for the body.
(Bhagavad-gita 2.25)
