The result of Namabhasa

Namabhasera phala

The stage of namabhasa gives many auspicious results[1], and certainly the Jiva attains great sukriti[2].

With namabhasa, all sins are destroyed. With namabhasa, liberation is achieved and Kali-yuga has no effect on the devotee.

With namabhasa, simply by his presence a man can purify the places he visits. Thanks to namabhasa, all diseases are cured.

All fears flee from namabhasa. All misfortunes are canceled for one who chants namabhasa.

Yaksas, Raksasas, Bhutas, Pretas, maleficent planets and all anarthas keep away from namabhasa.

Those who have fallen into a hellish condition are liberated and all prarabdha-karma[3] vanishes due to namabhasa.

Namabhasa is superior to all the Vedas and all the sacred tirthas[4]. Namabhasa is the greatest of all virtuous karmic actions.

The attainment of Vaikuntha of Namabhasa

Namabhasera vaikunthadi-prapakatva

Namabhasa rewards the four ends of life, namely dharma, artha, kama and moksa[5]. Being omnipotent, namabhasa liberates the Jivas.

It gives bliss to the world and grants the highest abode. For those who have no shelter, it is the only refuge and the best of all the kingdoms.

Through namabhasa the devotee can reach Vaikuntha and other spiritual abodes. All the Sastras state that it is a practice specific to Kali-yuga.

Indirect chanting, joking, disrespect and negligence – these are the four types of Namabhasa

Sanketa, parihasa, stobha o hela ei cari-prakara namabhasa

I know only four types of namabhasa: sanketa[6], parihasa[7], stobha[8], and hela[9].

The two types of Sanketa Namabhasa, or indirect chanting

Sanketa-rupa namabhasera prakara-dvaya

Chanting the Holy Name referring to Vishnu, but with a material conception, and involuntarily chanting the Holy Name of Vishnu – these are the two types of sanketa namabhasa. The Sastras mention Ajamila as an example.

All the Yavanas are easily liberated when they say, ‘Haram! Haram!’ This is said to be namabhasa of the second kind[10].

[1] Chanting Hare Krishna in an impure manner is better than any other discipline, such as dharma, yoga and others.

[2] The sukriti are the merits accumulated in this life or in the past.

[3] The results of previous activities.

[4] Sacred places.

[5] Religiosity, wealth, enjoyment of the senses and liberation respectively.

[6] Indirectly.

[7] Jokingly.

[8] Disrespectfully.

[9] Neglectfully.

[10] The word haram is an Arabic word that refers to a prohibited activity. However, in India, ha-ram means “O Rama!” So, since the Name of Rama is included, it is considered namabhasa. The power of the Holy Name never fails.
