Yudhisthira Curses Women

posted in: English, Kadacha ENG 0

The story of Yudhisthira cursing women to be unable to keep secrets goes as follows:

Kunti Devi had a relationship with Vivasvan before her marriage with Pandu, and as a result, Karna was born. So, he was by birth the first of the Pandavas and the rightful emperor.

She never told anyone about this, and as a result, Karna had a different life (which of course is a long story) and died during the battle of Kuruksetra.

Yudhisthira felt at fault for causing his elder brother’s death, but he believed that Kunti was guilty for having kept that secret.

So, he said:

“Henceforth, no woman shall succeed in keeping a secret.”
